Sabbath

Sabbath Forever? Really?

What is the Sabbath and does it really matter in today's Christian world and wasn't it for the Jews?

Well before you go into the Sabbath is the ceremonial and it's for the jew its , just lets do a logical exercise

What if I can prove it was not just for the Jews, and if it was it will still include you if you follow Christ.

This Lesson is 3 parts. It will go over the verses that prove Sabbath is still a thing and the verses that seemingly contradict that thought and the fact that we are Jews too.

Every proof text is biblical, no other book will be used, and I asked that you just don't believe this lesson we always encourage you to read and study for yourself. Hey, could we be wrong!

So let's begin. First Question: when was the Sabbath first brought to light or as a Commandment to God's people?

Many would say at mount Sani when God gave the commandments to Moses hence sometimes referred to the Mosaic Law.

Well let's look at the verse in the bible about the Sabbath in the decalog:

Exodus: 4:20

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Now in this verse there are 3 implications that it is not the first time the Sabbath was mentioned, and logically if the sabbath was introduced before Moses or before 1 Jew was established then how can it be Mosaic law?

First clue  the word “ Remember” you never use the word remember if you never had a conversation before? Right?

  1. If I were to say to you, “ Do you remember when we talked about blue corn in India”? You wouldn't know what I am talking about , but If I say, remember when I typed the word “ Sabbath'' at the top of this article? All you would do is scroll up to the top to confirm and agree.
  2. Think about it in the text there are 4 places in verse 20 where it clearly indicated this is not the first time, all past tense words like: “...the LORD made…”, “...the LORD blessed…”, “...Sabbath day and hallowed it”. In these phrases all past tense words.
  3. And finally the reference when he established the Sabbath.

Quote:

“ For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.”

No w lets see proof text the acknowledges the Sabbaths existence be for mount  Sinai one will directly say , the second will imply and the latter will source the reference where the commandment refers to

The first:

Exo 16:23

And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning

Second:

Final, what the the ver so the Sabbath commandment was referencing:

Gen: 2

2

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3

And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

4

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

So as you can see the Sabbath was established before there was a Moses, a ceremonial Law or a Jew.

Further in the study we will explore more verses that seemingly contradict Sabbath keeping and show Sabbath still being practiced in the New Testament , the fact that it was made for man, not just Jews  and Showing Sabbath being kept in heaven.

6 Sabbath (exodus 20:7-10

He said to them that tomorrow is the day of rest. What are you thinking about this that day of rest? Its means is that stay in the relationship with you with God .there is the rest in the relationship with God. If you need rest then you should stay in a relationship with God. God wants to show them that I want to relate with you because I love you so much.

Exodus: 10:20 seventh day is Sabbath .you shall not do any work in it, no anybody, you, nor you wife, nor you sons, nor your strangers .why God wanted this? There is the only reason that God wants to relationship with God. Sabbath is the sign of God to understand the world that in my relationship there is no work but rest.

Yahweh blessed the Sabbath

Yahweh God blessed the day of Sabbath because God loves us and this is the sign of his relationship with God in his rest. Who stays in his rest why anyone will destroy you even you are in the rest of God.

By the grace of God relationship means righteousness .right stand with God forever. How this is possible only by the love of God which he showed through his son Jesus Christ. If you love God then you will stay in a relationship with God because love needs a relationship. Jesus Christ stays in a relationship with God all the night means is pray. So why Jesus prays to God, just he wants to show us that God loves me and I love God and we are in a good relationship. Sabbath shows the relationship with God.

Rest in the father

Jesus interprets that if you go to your friend for food at midnight and knock on his door. if your friend is rested with his children in bed then he will say to you that don't bother me because iam with my children on the bed. So can't open the door and leave me. Listen he will not give him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will give him bread.

God wants that we remain with him in his rest, which means in pray. So there is a difference between friend and sons or slaves and sons’. God did not give priority to his friend but sons.

  • Sabbath shows the relationship with God, he made this day for a relationship with us.
  • Sabbath is a day of rest in God's relationships, so stay in pray.
  • Before the Sabbath, you are working but where is the rest? Is in the rest day of God, and this is the Sabbath.
